Portland City Council on will be voting next week on a proposal to require labor peace agreements for their contractors in janitorial, security, and industrial laundry services. What this means in effect if passed is that the city won’t work with any contractors in these industries whose workers don’t have some kind of labor agreement with their employer. This would be a huge step for protecting workers’ rights to organizing in these high-risk industries. Workers are lining up to testify in support and could use a lot of community support at the hearing!
Join us on Thursday December 13 at 2pm at Portland City Hall (1221 SW 4th Ave.) for this important vote and to show solidarity with janitorial, security and laundry workers!
