Contract Summary
· Duration: Four Years July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2026
· Wages:
o Year 1 – Increase 8%-21.5% (top of the scale) effective and retroactive to 7/1/22
o Year 2 – Increase 5% for all members on 7/1/23
o Year 3 – COLA (1-5% per CPI) on 7/1/24
o Year 4 – COLA (1-5% per CPI) on 7/1/25
· Increase Standby Pay in LOA’s from 18 hours of straight time pay per week to 24 hours of straight time pay per week.
· Increase Premium 7a regarding Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certification
o Level II – increase to $.50 per hour
o Level III – increase to $.75 per hour
o Level IV – increase to $1.00 per hour
· Increase Premium 8a regarding Wastewater Collections System Certification
o Level II – increase to $.50 per hour
o Level III – increase to $.75 per hour
o Level IV – increase to $1.00 per hour
· The parties agree to craft an MOU allowing for vacation cash out of up to forty (40) hours once per year until December 31, 2025.
· Article 1 – Probation period for new employees increased from six (6) to nine (9) months.
· Article 8 - Shift Differential is moving up with the cost of living:
o Second or Swing - $1.77
o Third or Nights - $2.36
· Article 9.3.2 - Improved protection for rest periods “At no time shall any employee be required to work their next regular shift without eight (8) hours of rest between any hours worked. The only exception is that on-call employees must be available during on-call hours. The employee shall remain in paid status for the rest hours that overlap with the employee’s next regular shift.”
· Article 15 – Addition of Juneteenth as a paid holiday
· Article 18 – Sick Leave and Vacation time are available to new hires after thirty (30) days. Improved from current waiting period of ninety (90) days.
· Article 18 – Removed the cap on sick leave usage for dependent care.
· Article 21 – Added language allowing employees to use paid leave to address immigration and citizenship matters.
· Article 23 – Amended language concerning Union Leave. Up to thirty (30) stewards or “designated representatives” will have a pool of 1,600 City paid hours to conduct the work of the Union.
· Article 27 – Increase the OT hour cap to 500 for computing an employee’s final average salary
· Article 30 – Increased clothing allowance from $250 per year to $350 per year.
· All members are eligible to participate in the Language Premium program.
· LOA #4 BES – All overtime hours can be paid at the OT rate or in Comp Time. “Advanced Notice” or “Short Notice” references deleted.
· BES CDL Pilot Premium – A limited number of employees will be eligible for a 3% premium for maintaining a CDL.
· The premium share for Seasonal Park Rangers improved from 90/10 to 95/5.
· Seasonal Park Ranger hour limit increased from 1,400 to 1,600 hours.
